Special Assignments with Oral Reports
Family Heritage Project (In Chinese, done in November)
Students are to dress up a paper doll like one of their ancestors by using cloth, buttons, felt, yarn, construction paper, or anything else they find around the house. They can also use crayons, markers, or paint for the face. The goal is try to duplicate the native traditional attire of the predominate nationality (or have students choose the nationality they’d like to portray). For example, a Native American Indian outfit, a Scottish kilt, a Chinese chi-pao or a Japanese kimono. The written as well as the oral report are both done in Chinese.
